Guaranteed/Automatic Cashback

Your guaranteed/automatic cashback will be paid by BACS directly into your bank account within a certain number of days after connection. Please check the exact number of days when you purchase your product.

Cashback by Redemption

Cashback by redemption usually means you have to claim the money from the retailer. They will supply instructions when you purchase your product. You have to be an organised person for this type of offer. But if you are, then there are some GREAT deals to be had.

You usually have to send them a voucher or your mobile phone bill several times over the length of your new contract, to prove your are still connected to the network and paying your bill. An example from MobilePhonesDirect is shown below:

The cashback is claimable by instalments in months 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18 and instructions on how to claim will be provided with your order.

Cashback will become void for customers who disconnect from the network prior to their payment being made or fail to submit thier bills.

What type of contract SIM only deals do giffgaff have?

giffgaff have two types of SIM Only plans

  • SIM Only Goodybag - The amount of data available ranges from 500Mb - 40GB. If you choose a plan with 6GB of data and above you'll get unlimited calls and texts too.
  • Always On Goodybag - Always On is giffgaff's eqivelant to unlimited data, however there are speed restrictions (see below).

Always On data

With Always On data, you get 40 GB of data at full 4G speed. After 40 GB of data used you'll experience a reduced data speed of 384kbps from 8am to Midnight. You may notice that activities which require high amounts of data, like HD video streaming, will be slower.

What is roaming?

Roaming is being able to use your phone outside the UK to make calls, receive texts and stay connected to your friends and family by sending and receiving data.

Can I roam with my goodybag?

Yes. You can roam in the EU and selected destinations. This means that making calls, sending texts or using data will work just like they do in the UK while you have an active goodybag.

For data, giffgaff's goodybags have an EU roaming cap, but only after you've used 20 GB of data. You'll only be charged 0.36p/MB (less than a penny) while roaming if you go over that 20 GB cap.

What will I be charged for using data outside my goodybag allowance while roaming?

If you use up all your goodybag's data while roaming, you'll be charged giffgaffs standard pay as you go rates.

When it comes to the £25 Always On goodybag, you'll be charged 0.36p/MB (that's less than a penny per megabyte).

giffgaffs standard Always On rules apply, after you use up 20 GB of full speed data your speed will be reduced to 384kbps between 8am and midnight GMT.

With giffgaffs ££5 golden goodybag, after you use up 20 GB of data in the EU you'll be charged 0.36p/MB (that's less than a penny per megabyte).
